✨ Varahi Stotras ✨

Mantras for daily sadhana

Stotras, japa, and daily rituals for upasakas of Goddess Varahi. Each mantra is given in Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and English transliteration — switch the language with the chips on each card.

Chanting · Stotras

Mantras for daily recitation. Sit straight, breathe softly, and let the syllables guide the breath.

Varahi Gayatri

The Gayatri mantra dedicated to Goddess Varahi.

ॐ वराहमुख्यै विद्महे दण्डनाथायै धीमहि तन्नो वाराही प्रचोदयात्

Om Varahamukhyai Vidmahe Dandanathayai Dhimahi Tanno Varahi Prachodayat

Meaning: We contemplate the Goddess of the boar face, wielder of the staff of justice. May Varahi awaken us and guide us.

When to chant: Best chanted at dawn and dusk as part of the Gayatri sandhya. Three rounds (a total of 30 repetitions) is the traditional minimum; longer japa amplifies the protection of Varahi.

Japa Mantra

The single mantra carried on the mala — the heart of personal Varahi sadhana.

Varahi Moola Mantra

The core seed mantra of Goddess Varahi.

ॐ ऐं ग्लौं ऐं नमो भगवती वार्ताली स्वाहा

Om Aim Gloum Aim Namo Bhagavati Vartali Svaha

Meaning: Salutations to the radiant Goddess Vartali — bearer of swift protection. The seed sounds Aim and Gloum invoke the wisdom of Saraswati and the protective fierceness of Varahi together.

When to chant: Daily protection and the clearing of obstacles. The traditional japa is 108 repetitions, ideally at dawn after a brief Devi dhyana.

Ashtottara Shatanamavali

The 108 names of Goddess Varahi. Best chanted on Friday evenings and on the moonless Amavasya tithi.

Daily Sadhana

A simple home practice you can begin today.

Daily Varahi Sadhana

A simple, traditional 15-minute morning practice. Adapt the length to fit your day — what matters is consistency.

  1. 1

    Snana & seat

Bathe (or wash face, hands, feet if a full bath isn't possible). Sit facing east or north on a clean asana — wool, silk, or kusha grass.

  2. 2

    Achamana

Sip water three times from the right palm with the names Om Achyutaya Namah, Om Anantaya Namah, Om Govindaya Namah. This is the inner cleansing.

  3. 3

    Pranayama (3 rounds)

Close the right nostril, inhale through the left for 4 counts. Hold for 16. Exhale through the right for 8. Then reverse. Three rounds is plenty.

  4. 4

    Sankalpa

Pour a little water in the right palm, hold the intention silently — date, place, your name, and the purpose of today's sadhana. Release the water at the end.

  5. 5

    Dhyana — invoke Goddess Varahi

Visualise the Devi: boar-faced, three-eyed, riding the buffalo of victory, holding the staff of dharma and the noose of liberation. Feel her gaze settle on you.

  6. 6

Japa — 108 of the Moola Mantra

Chant the Varahi Moola Mantra 108 times on a rudraksha or red sandal mala. Move beads with the thumb and middle finger; never the index finger.

  7. 7

    Arghya / offering

Offer a few grains of rice, a flower, or simply a sip of water to the Devi. Whatever you have, given with attention, is enough.

  8. 8

    Closing

Place both palms together at the heart. Whisper: 'Anena japena Sri Varahi Devi priyatam' (May the Devi be pleased by this japa). Sit in silence for a minute. Rise.

  • On Tuesdays, Fridays, and Ashtami / Navami tithis the practice is especially auspicious.
  • Tantric Varahi sadhana (with regional bija mantras and yantra puja) is given personally by Kavitha — book a Varahi Tantra Practice Session.
  • If you menstruate, you may skip the japa during the first three days of your cycle and simply sit in dhyana — this is the traditional teaching.

Annadaana Prarthana

The blessing offered before sharing food in seva.

अन्नदाता सुखी भव

Annadata Sukhi Bhava

Meaning: May the giver of food be blessed with happiness. May food be plentiful for all, may no being go hungry in our home.

When to chant: Whispered by Kavitha before the first plate is served at every Annadaana. Devotees offering daily food at home may say it before serving.

Need personal guidance on these practices?

Kavitha gives the tantric versions of the Varahi sadhana — yantra puja, regional bija mantras, and the karma-clearing sequence — in a private session.
